Dr. Vikram Paode, MBBS, MS (Ortho), MRCS (Edinburgh), is a Consultant, Orthopaedics, Trauma & Joint Replacement Surgeon at Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai. He possesses vast experience as an Orthopaedics Surgeon in a Level 1 Trauma Care centre in Europe. With more than 22 years of experience including stints in England, Scotland and India, in various spheres of Orthopaedics, Sport Injuries and complex Joint Replacement surgeries.
After completing his basic training in India, he joined the Queen Elizabeth Hospitals in Glasgow, one of the largest hospitals in Europe for tertiary care referrals. He was the expert in complex revision surgeries of Hip & Knee Arthroplasties, being referred post repeated surgeries in the periphery.
Dr. Paode’s experience in a Level 1 Trauma Care centre has enriched his experience in management of complex polytrauma and multiple patients who were airlifted. He was the Trauma Coordinator at At-Sultan Qaboos Hospital, which complemented his experience. Dr. Paode has initiated the concept of knee clinics with multi ligament injuries after trauma and sports. In knee injuries his interest lies in ACL and PCL ligaments reconstruction including other soft tissue procedures and revision surgeries.
His area of special interest lies in Complex Trauma surgery, Revision Arthoplasty, Therapeutic Arthoscopy of hip. knee & shoulder and soft tissue in the knees. He specializes in performing Hip & Knee Arthroscopic surgeries and pelvic osteotomies for dysplasia of hip.
Dr. Vikram Paode has a large number of research papers and publications to his credit. The papers published by him have been listed in various reputed British and American Journals and are testimonials to his academic interest. He was invited to various universities in Europe and USA including the Oxford University for presenting his research on Oncology. His research at Glasgow University has been a fore-runner to improved clinical practices and has been extensively used in the training and development of the orthopaedics trainees.
His return to India is guided by the vision to develop a world class Orthopaedic Revision Arthroplasty & Sport Injury centre at Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai.
