Dr Gautam Zaveri is one of the leading spine surgeons in India today. He is amongst the few spine surgeons who is trained in both orthopaedic and neurosurgery of the spine. Having completed his training in India, he underwent extensive training in various aspects of spine surgery in USA, Canada and UK from 1997 to 2002. Since March 2002, he has been practicing as a Consulting Spine Surgeon in Mumbai. He has performed more than 2500 spine surgeries for a variety of spinal problems such as slipped disc, sciatica, spinal stenosis, spondylolisthesis, cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, myelopathy, spinal fractures, tuberculosis and tumors, scoliosis and kyphosis. He specializes in microsurgery, endoscopic spinal surgery and major reconstructive spinal surgery. He has also developed a comprehensive non-operative treatment programme for spinal disorders. He has been active in research and academics. Orthopaedic surgeons from different parts of India have trained with him as spine fellows and registrars. He has presented and published a number of scientific papers as well as written chapters in textbooks of spine surgery. He is invited both in India and overseas to lecture/ demonstrate surgery at various courses and conferences of spine surgery. He has been nominated “The International Spine Fellow” by the International Society for Study of the Lumbar Spine at Adelaide in 2000 and nominated “The best Asia- Pacific Spine Faculty” by the AOSpine International at Davos in 2006
