Dr. AS Thennavan is an Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Coimbatore, specialising in trauma and joint replacement among other orthopaedic procedures. He graduated from the Stanley Medical College in Chennai in 1995 and later obtained the titles of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), Edinburgh, and FRCS Edinburgh (Trauma and Orthopaedics). In addition, he holds an M.Phil in Biomedical Engineering from Strathclyde University, Glasgow. Dr. Thennavan has been working as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital in Coimbatore since January 2008. He also visits the CM Hospital in Namakkal on Sundays. With over 15 years of overall experience in the United Kingdom and India, Dr. Thennavan is well-versed in orthopaedic surgery as well as all procedures related to operational and clinical diagnostics and treatment in orthopaedics. His areas of special interest include arthroplasty (primary and revision), arthroscopy, computer assisted orthopaedics, unicompartmental knee (Oxford) resurfacing, trauma and upper limb arthroscopy.
