I, Dr Chirag C Parikh, MS, MRCS (UK)- Laparoscopic GI and Bariatric Surgeon and director at Devarsh Hospital, have completed my graduation & post-graduation from Medical College, Vadodara in 2001. After working as an Asst. Professor in Surgery for two years in the same college, I migrated to UK for further training in GI surgery. I obtained membership of Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2006.
Recently I had been to the Sunderland Royal Hospital, UK for 6 months where I completed the National Surgical fellowship in Bariatric Surgery approved by Royal College of Surgeons of England. I was also awarded a scholarship for a fellowship in Laparoscopic Upper and Lower GI Surgery at Nine well’s hospital, Dundee, Scotland, UK in 2010. Currently, I am attached to all major Hospitals in Vadodara.
I have a vast experience in Complicated gastro intestinal Surgery as well as basic and advanced laparoscopic surgery. I have not only worked in NHS hospitals as a senior registrar but also am trained in complex Gi and laparoscopic surgeries, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies for six consecutive years in UK. I have experience operating more than 100 cases of Bariatric (Obesity) Surgery.
I have published articles in national as well as international journals and presented various topics in national & international conferences including a paper on “Banded gastric bypass: A systematic review” in the international journal of obesity surgery. I have a keen interest in Bariatric (Obesity) surgery, Lap. Hernia Surgery, Colorectal oncosurgeries, Management of High-Risk GI Disorders and Research in GI Surgeries. I am an active participant in the development of patient educational material as well in organizing conferences in surgical gastroenterology & laparoscopic surgery.
